On Jan. 7, 2016, Mosaic’s Mine Permitting team received unanimous approval of the Annual Review of our 2015 operations from the Hardee County Board of County Commissioners.

Throughout 2016, the Mine Permitting team will continue working with a variety of other internal departments to coordinate permitting efforts with federal, state and county agencies, as well as other external stakeholders. This includes developing, finalizing and implementing specific plans for each permit, including the new proposed Ona Mine and South Pasture Expansion, that are consistent with regulatory requirements.

For example, each permit outlines recommended actions for minimizing impacts to ecological resources, wildlife habitat and wetlands before, during and after mining operations. The permits also include plans for how Mosaic will return mined lands to productive uses post mining.

Favorable outcomes of these permitting efforts ensures Mosaic can continue responsible mining operations in Hardee County.
